Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Headstreams respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and through donations, why we collect it, and how we look after it.

What we collect

  • When you donate: your name, email address, phone number, postal address, PAN, and the amount and date of your gift.
  • When you write to us: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
  • When you visit the website: Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us how the website is used (for example, which pages are visited). This does not tell us who you are.

Card, UPI and bank account details are collected and kept by our payment partner, Razorpay, under its own security standards. Headstreams never sees or stores them.

Why we use it

  • To process your donation and send you a receipt.
  • To issue your 80G tax certificate and report donations to the Income Tax Department, as the law requires.
  • To reply to your message and keep you informed about our work, if you have asked us to.
  • To keep our accounts and meet our legal and audit duties.
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:

  • with Razorpay, to process payments;
  • with the Income Tax Department and other authorities, where the law requires it;
  • with our auditors, for the yearly audit of our accounts;
  • with the service providers we use to run our email, records and website (such as Google and Cloudflare), who may only use it to provide those services to us.

How long we keep it

We keep donation records for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records. We keep other information only as long as we need it for the reasons above.

Keeping it safe

Only staff who need your information can see it, and we use secure, password-protected systems to store it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you updates. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it (for example, donation records). You can also turn off cookies in your browser.

Photos and stories

We publish photos and stories of the people we work with only with their written consent, and never in a way that could identify a child in care.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
